Wakesurfing and its history
The origin of wakesurfing isn’t obvious. Different people and companies claim the “paternity” of this water sport. It was born approximately between the 50s and 60s of the 20th century, when the boat was dragging the surfers on the surfboards along. And still they were far from naming it a new water sport invention. It wasn’t until 80’s when it was attempted to create the largest wave by the boat to let the surfer slide on it. Nowadays it is definitely the youngest and still the most demanded water sport. The American patent for wakesurfing was granted in 1997 to Alfonso Coron. Only after that this water sport became public.
